    The Betrayal.
      I remember, The poppy petals, four, lay discarded, Lost on the ground, The bloody battle field of life. Dead and dying soldiers, Left to the whispers of time, Histories unnamed heroes. Remembered in stone, But not in minds, Just numbers equalling statistics, Dark facts in a grim world, That we pretend glitters like gold.
A poem on a scrap of paper again, written after seeing poppy petals littering the garden.

I always like how you mix history into your poetry. Also love the choice of title, it's a really interesting way of looking at it and gives the poem a melancholy feel (love that word... melancholy :P)
